New York City Campaign Finance Board rules require the above information to qualify for matching funds in primary and general elections (Contributions up to $175 are matched 6 to 1). There are no matching funds in a Runoff election. Contributions from corporations, partnerships, LLPs and LLCs are prohibited. A Political Committee may not make a contribution unless it is registered with the NYC Campaign Finance Board. If a contributor has business dealings with the City as defined in the Campaign Finance Act, such contributor may contribute only up to $200 for a runoff campaign for Public Advocate. Contributions from persons doing business with the City also will not be matched with public funds in a primary or general election. Political contributions are not deductible as charitable contributions for income tax purposes. The contribution limit is $2475 for a Runoff election.
